Scaling Automotive Photography With GenAI
To support growing demand for its services, an automotive technology and merchandising company (“The Customer”) partnered with JetSweep to modernize its automotive photography pipeline and improve image quality at scale. The resulting Amazon Web Services (AWS)-native generative AI solution automates image correction for more than 80,000 vehicle images per day while integrating seamlessly into the company’s existing platform.
The Customer
The Customer operates one of the largest automotive photography networks in North America, processing vehicle photo inventory for car dealerships across the United States. Every day, thousands of vehicles are photographed and uploaded to online listings, where image quality plays a critical role in attracting buyers and maintaining a consistent brand experience.
The Customer responded to rising demand for high-quality vehicle imagery by partnering with JetSweep to replace a manual, rules-based image correction process with a fully automated, AI-native solution. The new system is capable of processing more than 80,000 vehicle images per day with minimal human intervention.
The Challenge
The Customer’s existing image processing workflow had reached its limits. Exterior vehicle images required color correction, crop standardization, and rotation normalization to ensure every listing met dealership quality standards. Interior vehicle photos presented differences in camera angles, lighting conditions, and vehicle layouts, making it nearly impossible for traditional rule-based systems to deliver consistent results.
In addition to improving accuracy, the solution needed to integrate seamlessly into The Customer’s existing Node.js application without disrupting current operations or slowing image processing at scale.
The Solution
JetSweep designed and deployed a custom, multi-model GenAI pipeline on AWS that automates image enhancement. The solution uses multiple specialized generative AI models trained on real-world before-and-after automotive image pairs. Individual models perform color calibration, composition correction, and rotation normalization.
Today, the platform processes more than 80,000 images each day for dealership networks nationwide, replacing labor-intensive manual editing with a scalable, AI-powered pipeline built for continued growth.
