Our team utilized a lift and shift strategy to migrate Venminder’s data center on AWS. Once on the AWS cloud, we modernized their environment to improve performance and their ability to innovate faster.
The Customer
Venminder is an industry-recognized leader in third-party risk management solutions. Dedicated to third-party risk, the company is the go-to partner for software, vendor risk assessments, certified subject-matter expertise, and education for more than 1,000 customers.
The Challenge
Venminder’s data center solution was unable to scale as needed to meet the growing demands. Venminder regularly required additional CPU for traffic spikes. Provisioning additional CPU with the data center solution was a time-consuming task and an overly complex process. By moving to AWS, the Venminder team could take advantage of the agility in scaling provided by AWS services, and meet their growth requirements.
Why AWS?
Venminder was looking to achieve better control and agility in regard to scaling resources. They wanted to achieve better performance for end users who might experience lag during traffic spikes where Venminder was unable to scale. AWS was the best solution to fit those needs.
Why JetSweep?
AWS recommended JetSweep as an Advanced AWS Partner. After learning more about our team through additional customer references, Venminder got on the phone with our team. VP and Senior Solution Architect Brian MacDonald’s experience and high-level work proposal aligned with what Venminder had envisioned, and they chose JetSweep as a partner for their migration.
The Solution
JetSweep worked closely with Venminder to develop a migration plan for their application needs. The environment was migrated in two parts. Some followed a lift and shift strategy while the rest was migrated and modernized with AWS services.
Once the environment was configured and available, we moved data and installed applications and services for the Venminder platform. Testing and validation were performed by Venminder personnel with JetSweep available to support.
The Benefits
AWS’s technology stack allowed for quickly provisioning resources to the services that support the Venminder platform, as needed, without having to wait for a vendor change process. Venminder immediately saw benefits in its ability to develop and release new features faster than ever before.
