Amazon WorkSpaces Launches New Integration with Microsoft 365

Amazon WorkSpaces is AWS’ cloud-based desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) solution. It powers remote and hybrid working for tens of thousands of organizations, providing secure, scalable, and cost-effective virtual desktops to end-users. As an Advanced AWS Consulting Partner, we are excited to introduce the latest launch from AWS End User Computing– customers can now use Microsoft 365 with Amazon WorkSpaces.

Amazon WorkSpaces customers can use Microsoft 365 licenses through a “bring your own license” (BYOL) model. Productivity applications like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook are included. Additional apps are available based on users’ Microsoft 365 licensing plans. E3, E5, A3, A5, and Business Premium are available on WorkSpaces, as well as Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio. Using Microsoft 365 on Amazon WorkSpaces does not incur additional costs and set up is simple.

This launch further improves the user experience for Amazon WorkSpaces customers. One of the biggest benefits of WorkSpaces is the ability to provide consistent virtual desktops to end-users wherever they are in the world, at any time, and on any supported device. AWS offers autoscaling and a pay-as-you-go pricing model to allow customers to pay for exactly what they need, when they need it. Amazon WorkSpaces support Microsoft Windows, Amazon Linux 2, and Ubuntu Desktop operating systems. This integration expands organizations’ ability to provide compatible, seamless virtual desktops to users that rely on Microsoft 365 during their workday.

This latest integration with Microsoft and Amazon allows customers to easily maximize on the productivity benefits from Microsoft 365 and the security, scalability, and reliability of the AWS cloud.
